POCUS is a diagnostic tool that is essential, user friendly and most importantly portable thus enhancing care delivered to patients. In some instances it also increases diagnostic accuracy thus making it very effective. I personally enjoyed the training, learning from the trainers and my fellow colleagues was a good experience. It also factors in our busy work schedules hence it was an efficient way of learning.

As doctors, we begin by taking a detailed medical history from the patients by asking questions and conducting clinical assessment, family history to gather information that may help in diagnosis. However, doctors who don’t have ultrasound machines will refer their patients for ultrasound after the assessment to help with accuracy of diagnosis.

Thank you Esther and the entire MedicScan Team for the opportunity to add to my expertise by providing this training.
It will go a long way in adding more skills to my career path and eventually improving patients outcome.
Doctors have very good clinical acumen gathered over the years of practice as well as through history taking and physical examination while utilising laboratory services. For some cases surgery is inevitable.Â

Nursing allows you to spend more time with the patients tending for them and their needs. It makes me feel like that’s the best way I can make and impact change in patients lives. Patients need a lot of attention and especially to those whom I attend to in my area of working in a home-based institution, I encounter such patients who need a lot of care.

I felt a natural liking towards the field of medicine. Even though I had relatives who were practising different fields of medicine, I could feel that I wanted to take that route. Maybe it’s in the family blood! I am very sympathetic and passionate towards humanity. Being in the medical field has helped me practise this act everyday, I have always found a way to help the sick and the vulnerable groups of people in the community and also help them overcome any problem they may be going through in any means I can.

I admired the selfless efforts of doctors when I was young, and I loved the way they would work all their way out to save lives. And with time, I grew interested in learning more, and I joined my brother-in-law in practising medicine. When growing up, I always had three major medical career choices, medicine was the first choice, followed by pharmacy and last but not least, laboratory practice.
